maturity. it's a word that probably means the transition from a adolescence to adulthood. it happens more in the form of "way of thought". How people going through maturity begins to see things from a different perspective.
this is just my opinion, but maturity is probably the point in time where a person starts to realise the importance of certain things. for an example, a student may realise the the importance of study. prior "maturity" thinking, the adolescent may think it is a waste of time or its just another lot of pointless work. after the transition, he would probably know that studies are important for his future.
in the paragraph above, the main focus is the thought of consequence for every action or act, imposed by an outside authority e.g. parent, teacher, or the thought of consequence by the individual himself.
elaborating on the topic of thought of consequence, again from my own stand point, there are many forms at which the thought can take place. let me highlight two forms that may occur in the person's mind.
the first form is "if i do this i'll get that?" or "if i do this, what will i end up with?". this is probably the first form of thought that occurs during transition. the curiosity that drives one to find out more.
second form in my opinion comes about something like this "i'll do this to get that". the difference is plain simple. someone going through the second form of thought KNOWS what he's doing and is AWARE of the resulting consequence. that's right. the main difference is the surety or confidence the person has when making the decision. this second form usually is preceded by the first form of thought though experience.
In short, maturity is something i believe is not in how the person looks like or how the person behaves. a grown man loving toys does does not mean he's childish right? right. it all goes into fact that how someone should be judge or seen is through his way of thought. this is simply isn't easy, but it's the way to get to know someone.
